Click on the Input Sources tab. In the left sidebar, locate the 'Arabic' entry and select it. Or for OS X = 10.9, click on the + icon, locate the 'Arabic' entry and add it. Adding the keyboard is quite straight forward however displaying the virtual Arabic keyboard can be difficult to find. Although adding the Arabic keyboard is useful for when you want to type in Arabic, if you don’t have an external keyboard, then you may wish to open a virtual keyboard.

If you want to switch between the keyboard quite regularly, make sure you select “Show Input menu in the menu bar”. You will then be able to see your language flag next to the time or battery power. Click on the flag and you will see the keyboards you can use.
How to display the virtual Arabic keyboard on Mac
1. Go back to System settings > Keyboard and select the tab “Keyboard” (this is the first and default tab).

You can click each letter with the mouse and the letter will automatically display in the text field. You could also learn to touch type in Arabic and then eventually you won’t need the virtual Arabic keyboard.

How to Install Arabic Keyboard for Mac
Apple has added enough languages in the MacOS and all the keyboards also are pre-installed. By default, Keyboard on most of the Mac machines come with the English (US) Layout. However, you still can use your physical English layout keyboard to type in Arabic. To do so, follow the below steps.
Download Keyboard Arabic And English
- Turn on your MacOS device.
- Open the System Preferences > Keyboard
- Navigate to “Input Sources.”
- Click on the “+” button on the left hand corner of your screen.
- A list of languages would appear, select “Arabic.” and the layout which you prefer. There are 5 layouts available, Arabic normal, Arabic AZERTY PC, Arabic North Africa, Arabic PC, Arabic QWERTY. Select the one which you are comfortable with.
- That’s it, you’ve successfully enabled the Arabic Keyboard on your Mac device.
